Jog (and a lot of walking) around the Tidal Basin

My Wednesday sight-seeing was actually sight-jogging.  I visited DC in the 6th grade, have had multiple visitors  over the past 6 months but I have never been inside the Jefferson Memorial.  It's not the most accessible sight to see in this town if you ask me.  So, rather than walking the mile from the closest metro stop, I decided I would just run from the metro and around the entire Tidal Basin.  It was sunny& warm, but not too hot.  There were not many people out and the lake was calm and pretty.  I will just share a few (or many) pictures...

sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite

I have a problem.  As I am drifting to sleep in any hotel bed, the only thing I can think about is bed bugs...disgusting little blood-sucking bed bugs.  Apparently, bed bugs are on the rise around the world, even in the fanciest of hotels.  The longer I lay awake in bed, the more I think about them.  Thinking about them makes me itchy and fidgety. So, to distract myself from bed-bug thoughts last night, I bought the Where's Waldo? app.  It was fun...and addictive.  By the time I finished playing under the blanket, I was too tired to think about bed bugs and  fell right to sleep.  Maybe if I trained Scout to sniff the BBs out upon arrival, I could have peace of mind at any hotel.  Then, I could start my own bed-bug finding company and Scout could start earning money to pay for his own vet bills in the future.  Yes, this sounds like a good plan.  Now, just to figure out how to train him to find bed-bugs....okay all this bed-bug talk is making me itchy again so I better stop.

Happy September!

Guess what?  I did go to the Jefferson Memorial yesterday, but I will write about it later.  Today, I spent the day cleaning our apartment. I finished just in time to move a large pile of stuff over to the hotel that we are staying in for the next week.  I will not say anything about the little 'move' except that it was not pleasant.  Who know 1 hour could be so unpleasant...Scout was freaking out...Ed was freaking out... and maybe I was freaking out a little bit :) But we're settled into our little suite so I suppose I can say that I am happy that we are one step closer to getting to Denmark.  Ed's final day of class is tomorrow and I am really proud of him.  Good Luck to him on his Tuesday test!  I am happy tomorrow is Friday!  Next Friday, we will be on our way to Tennessee!
